Sanskrit for ‘Lord of Dance’, is a depiction of Lord Shiva as the ecstatic cosmic dancer. His vigorous dance, the Tandava, is considered as the source of the cycle of creation, preservation and dissolution. The dwarf, Apasmara on whom Lord Shiva plants his foot, represents ignorance.
If we look deeply, this cycle of creation, preservation and destruction is taking place within each of us at an atomic level at every given moment in time. It is the very rhythm of life within us all and the rhythm of the whole cosmos!
May our awareness of His divine dance within us become the very path to our liberation!
